HERE WE GO MAGIC

Due to unforseen circumstances Civil Society regrets to announce that the June dates for the Here We Go Magic have unfortunately been postponed. Please contact your ticketing outlet for refunds. Here We Go Magic will now be appearing in July as part of the Grizzly Bear tour in Sydney and Melbourne.

The band’s inception in early 2009 brought together a group from seemingly disparate musical backgrounds. Formed by a series of chance encounters, overheard conversations and supernatural occurrences, the members of Here We Go Magic found immediate common inspiration in a collection of unique 4-track recordings created by pop-folk singer/multi-instrumentalist Luke Temple.

Combining with Temple’s distinctively intimate vocals, Kristina Lieberson, Michael Bloch, Jennifer Turner, and Peter Hale form an enchanting beast that intertwines harmonies in a manner that is at once intuitive and highly developed. By February 2009 they had released their self-titled ‘Here We Go Magic’ debut to critical acclaim. “Here We Go Magic demands attention” – Mojo

Since this initial spark the band’s creative momentum has been unwavering and after spending much of 2009 on successive North American and European tours with bands such Department of Eagles, Grizzly Bear, and The Walkmen, they returned with a new album.

Escaping Brooklyn they headed to upstate New York into an old farmhouse, the result of this hibernation being ‘Pigeons’. (Due for release on Secretly Canadian/Inertia June 5)

With impending international tour alongside New Pornographers and White Rabbits, and appearances at Glastonbury, Boonaroo and Pitchfork Music Festivals, Here We Go Magic will play just two shows in Australia. Don’t miss your chance to see Here We Go Magic’s debut Australian tour and be one of the first in the world to see ‘Pigeons’ live.
