About Us

Civil Society is Inertia’s touring division and commenced operations in 2006, providing touring services and promotions for a wide range of acts. Civil Society works in unison with labels providing an integrated service for artists - combining an album releases with Australian tours.

Civil Society tours bands from a wide spectrum of musical styles - including indie rock, hip hop, pop, dance, electronica, alt.country, folk and roots.

Civil Society has worked with nearly all the major festivals in Australia and is always looking for ways to place interesting acts and music in front of the broadest crowd possible. Civil Society also act as direct agents and tour managers for Australian festival’s touring acts.

Civil Society’s great attention to detail and high ethical standards for all tours is resulting in a highly regarded reputation for competence and trustworthiness. Civil Society is run by Ben Marshall and Frazer Bourke - combined they have professional backgrounds in touring, law, accounting, publicity & promotion, marketing and are both wildly passionate about good music.

 

In 06/07 Civil Society’s tours included:

(Warp), Pendulum (Breakbeat Kaos), CocoRosie (Touch and Go), Tunng, Prefuse 73 (Warp), Blockhead & Signify (Ninja Tune and Lex), Mr Lif (Def Jux), Cage (Def Jux), , Goldie (Metalheadz) Andrew Weatherall, Luke Vibert (Warp), DJ Kentaro (Ninja Tune), Shy Child (Wall of Sound).

Civil Society continues to grow in 2008 with upcoming return tours for CocoRosie and !!!, a Malcolm Middleton solo tour and many more..
